Base and build

Sessions through base and build

Maintenance sessions for the long weeks when training is steady and the volume is climbing.

Most athletes book every few weeks through base and build. Your therapist keeps a short note of what you asked for last time, so each session starts from there. Sessions run 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes.

  • 30 to 90 minutes

  • Calves, hips, lower back and shoulders

  • Pressure you set, checked three times

Good to know

Pressure, cover and what to wear

  • Pressure

We ask before we start and check as we go. Lighter or firmer, just say.

  • Covered

A sheet or towel the whole time. Only the part we are working on is uncovered.

  • Ask first

If you are hurt, unwell or pregnant, ask your doctor or midwife before you book.

  • What to wear

Whatever you like to arrive in. Shorts are fine, and we work around whatever you keep on.

Elliot has raced triathlons for most of his adult life, and he works on triathletes' legs the way he wishes someone had worked on his: steadily, with a pressure check at the start, the middle and the end. He takes most of the long-course clients and the earliest mornings. He speaks English.

Questions about this session

How long should I make my session?

Forty-five to sixty minutes suits most training weeks. Choose thirty if you only want one area worked on, and ninety in a heavy block.

Can I come straight from a workout?

Yes, though most people like a few minutes between a hard workout and the table. Showers are not on site, so arrive as you are comfortable.

Will it be too much before a hard week?

Tell us what is coming and we will set the pressure to match. You can always ask for lighter.
